Compliance
QuantGrid is a technology platform, not an investment adviser.
This page states plainly what we do, what we do not do, and why SEBI registration does not apply to us. Nothing here is hedged, and nothing on the rest of this site contradicts it.
- SEBI registration
- None, in any capacity
- Custody of your funds
- Never, at any point
- What we operate
- Order-replication software
What we are
A technology platform that copies orders between accounts you control
QuantGrid watches one trading account that you nominate as the master. When an order is placed there, it places a matching order in each account you have linked, sized by the multiplier you set. That is the entire product.
A connection to your own broker
QuantGrid talks to Zerodha, Angel One and FYERS over their official APIs, using access tokens that you authorise yourself. Revoke the token from your broker console and the connection stops immediately.
Rules you set, executed literally
You nominate the master account. You set each linked account's multiplier, its lot size and its maximum quantity. The engine applies exactly those numbers, rounding down to a whole lot and never up.
Money that never leaves your broker
Funds and holdings stay in your own account with your own SEBI-registered broker for the entire time you use QuantGrid. We hold no client funds and no securities at any point.
A record of every action
Every event received, every decision taken and every broker response is written to an append-only log that you can read and export. If you need to reconstruct what happened at 09:15:04, it is on record.
The product has a stated scope and stays inside it. QuantGrid replicates equity and F&O orders on NSE, BSE, NFO and BFO. Commodities (MCX) and currency (CDS and BCD) are outside that scope and are never replicated.
Hours we operate
QuantGrid runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST on NSE and BSE trading days. Outside those hours, and at weekends and exchange holidays, the platform is taken offline for maintenance and to keep running costs down.
Place your orders while the platform is up. An order placed on the master account outside the hours above, including an after-market (AMO) order, is not replicated at all: it is already on the order book by the time the engine starts, so it is treated as history rather than as a new order, and a later fill on it does not replicate either.
99.9% uptime during NSE and BSE market hours. Live status at quantgrid.in/status.
The mechanics are documented in full on how it works and security. Both pages describe the same software this page describes.
What QuantGrid is not
These six statements are the authoritative version of our position. They are printed here word for word, they are not summarised anywhere on this site, and every other page is written to stay consistent with them.
QuantGrid is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in any capacity: not as an Investment Adviser, not as a Research Analyst, and not as a Portfolio Manager.
QuantGrid does not give investment advice, tips, calls, buy or sell recommendations, or any opinion on any security. Nothing on this website or in the product is a recommendation to trade.
QuantGrid never holds, receives or handles your funds or securities. Money and holdings stay with your SEBI-registered broker throughout.
QuantGrid does not manage your account or trade on your behalf at its own discretion. The software executes only the replication rules you configure, mirroring orders that you or your chosen master account originate.
QuantGrid does not offer, promise or imply any profit, assured return or performance outcome, and does not share in your profits or losses.
You choose your own master account, you set your own multipliers and limits, and you remain solely responsible for every order placed in your account and for every consequence of it.
If any claim made anywhere by QuantGrid appears to conflict with the list above, the list above governs.
Registration
Why we are not registered with SEBI
Registration is not a badge a software company collects to look credible. It attaches to specific regulated activities and is granted for those activities. We carry out none of them.
SEBI registration as an Investment Adviser or a Research Analyst applies to entities that tell other people what to buy or sell, or that publish research on securities. QuantGrid does neither. It is software that executes rules its user configures, inside that user's own broker account, under an API session that user authorised.
We do not accept any role that would require registration. We do not take custody of funds or securities, we do not exercise discretion over anyone's account, we do not share in anyone's outcome, and we charge a flat per-broker-account fee, on a fixed 30-day cycle, that does not vary with how you trade or how your trading goes. The pricing page shows the only two prices we ever charge, one for each address type.
| Regulated activity | Who it applies to | Does QuantGrid do it? |
|---|---|---|
| Investment AdviserSEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013 | Persons who advise others on buying, selling or dealing in securities, for consideration. | NoQuantGrid expresses no opinion on any security and tells nobody what to trade. |
| Research AnalystSEBI (Research Analysts) Regulations, 2014 | Persons who prepare or publish research reports, price targets or buy and sell opinions on securities. | NoQuantGrid publishes no research and makes no forecast about any instrument. |
| Portfolio ManagerSEBI (Portfolio Managers) Regulations, 2020 | Persons who manage or administer someone else's funds or portfolio of securities. | NoQuantGrid takes no custody and no discretion. It only mirrors orders your own rules describe. |
| Stock BrokerSEBI (Stock Brokers) Regulations, 1992 | Exchange members who execute and settle trades on behalf of clients. | NoYour broker executes and settles every order. QuantGrid places orders into your own broker session. |
Is copy trading legal in India?
Placing your own orders in your own account through your broker's official API, automatically rather than by hand, is ordinary use of a broker API and is what QuantGrid does. Every broker we support publishes and documents that API for exactly this kind of use.
What the law regulates is not the software: it is who may advise others, who may handle other people's money, and who may hold funds or securities. If your intended use touches any of those, the registration question is about you and your activity, not about the tool. Take your own legal counsel before you start.
If that ever changes
We have no plan to offer investment advice, research recommendations or discretionary account management. If we ever decided to, we would obtain the relevant SEBI registration first, publish the registration number on this page, and only then offer it.
Until this page says otherwise, we hold no registration and offer no such service. That order matters: register first, offer second. We will not do it the other way round.
Your obligations
What you are responsible for
QuantGrid executes; you decide. The obligations below sit with you, and there is nothing we can do to discharge them on your behalf.
Read this one twice
If you place orders in accounts that belong to other people, or you operate pooled money, that activity may itself require SEBI registration or another licence. Obtaining it is your obligation and yours alone. Using QuantGrid confers no authorisation on you, is not evidence of any authorisation, and can never be relied on as a substitute for one. We do not check whether you hold one, and we are not the party the regulator will ask.
Own or be authorised to operate every linked account
Each account you connect must be yours, or one you are lawfully entitled to operate. Linking an account you have no authority over breaches our Terms and, in all likelihood, your broker agreement as well.
Comply with your broker agreement
Broker API terms govern automated order placement, session handling and IP whitelisting. Read them. Where what you want to do conflicts with your broker terms, the broker terms win and we will not work around them.
Comply with the exchange and SEBI rules that apply to you
Position limits, margin obligations, ban-period restrictions and disclosure requirements attach to your account and your PAN. Automating your order entry does not exempt you from a single one of them.
Your own tax and reporting
Every replicated order is a trade in your own account and appears in your own contract notes, ledger and profit-and-loss statement. Computing, paying and reporting the tax on it is yours to do.
Every order placed is yours
You choose the master account, you set the multipliers and you carry the outcome. Trading in securities carries a substantial risk of loss, including loss beyond your initial capital in leveraged segments.
The failure modes worth understanding before you link a live account are set out in the risk disclosure. The binding version of these obligations is in the Terms of Service.
Intermediary obligations
Grievances, data and the IT Rules
QuantGrid is an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code Rules, 2021. Those rules require us to publish a Grievance Officer, so here are the details.

Write to the Grievance Officer about anything you believe is wrong with the service, the content of this website or the handling of your data. We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours and work to resolve it within 15 days, which is what the rules require of us.
For personal data specifically, our obligations under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and what we collect, why we hold it and how long we keep it are set out in the Privacy Policy. Broker access tokens are encrypted at rest and never written to application logs; the engineering detail behind that is on the security page.
For anything that is not a grievance, ordinary support runs Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST, at support@quantgrid.in. That is a desk staffed inside those hours rather than around the clock, and the platform itself runs 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST, as set out above. Legal correspondence goes to legal@quantgrid.in, or use the contact form.
