Zerodha · Kite Connect v3
Zerodha copy trading, built on Kite Connect v3
Link your Zerodha accounts, mark one as the master, and every order it places is mirrored into the others within 50 milliseconds. Child accounts can sit at Zerodha, Angel One or FYERS.
Integration
How QuantGrid connects to Zerodha
QuantGrid connects to Kite Connect v3 and listens on the order-update WebSocket, so a change on your master account reaches the engine the moment Zerodha publishes it. If the socket drops, order-book polling takes over automatically and replication continues without you doing anything.
QuantGrid subscribes to the Kite Connect order-update WebSocket for your master account. The moment Zerodha publishes a status change, the engine has it: no screen scraping, no browser extension, no polling delay in the normal path.
If the socket drops, REST order-book polling starts automatically and replication continues while the socket reconnects. Both paths share the same duplicate-order protection, so an order seen twice is still placed once.
- Order updates arrive over the Kite WebSocket; REST order-book polling covers any gap
- Equity and F&O on NSE, BSE, NFO and BFO, across CNC, MIS and NRML products
- Commodities (MCX) and currency (CDS and BCD) are not supported.
- Partial fills replicate as deltas, so a staggered master fill does not double up on the child
- Kite access tokens expire daily, so QuantGrid prompts you to re-authorise and holds the session until then

Connect Zerodha in three steps
Setup is a one-time job and usually takes a few minutes. Nothing is replicated until you explicitly link a master to a child and save a multiplier.
- 01
Create a Kite Connect app
In the Zerodha developer console, create an app and paste in the redirect URL that QuantGrid shows you. Copy the API key and secret into QuantGrid.
- 02
Authorise the connection
Sign in through Zerodha's login page and approve access. QuantGrid stores the returned session token, encrypted, and nothing else.
- 03
Link accounts and set your rules
Mark one account as the master, add your child accounts, and set a copy factor, lot size and max quantity for each one. Replication starts on the next order the master places.
Want the full order path first? Read how it works, or book a demo and we will do the first link with you on the call.
Authorisation
Sessions, tokens and revoking access on Zerodha
Broker sessions are governed by the broker, not by QuantGrid. Here is exactly how that behaves so nothing surprises you at 9:15 in the morning.
Authorisation runs on Zerodha's login page
You click through to Zerodha's own login screen and approve the connection there. QuantGrid receives an access token scoped to your account. Your Kite password and 2FA never pass through QuantGrid.
Kite tokens expire every day
Kite Connect access tokens are valid for a single trading day, by Zerodha's design and not by ours. QuantGrid holds the session until it expires, then prompts you to re-authorise. Re-authorising takes one click and nothing about your relationships, multipliers or limits is lost.
Kite Connect is a paid subscription from Zerodha
API access is billed by Zerodha, separate from your QuantGrid plan. You will need it active on the master account and on every child account you want orders placed into.
One static IP, reserved to your account
Your API traffic leaves from a dedicated static IP address that is never shared with another customer. Where a broker lets you restrict API access to a whitelisted address, you have one stable address to whitelist, and your activity is never mixed with anyone else's. See the security practices.
Pairing
Running Zerodha alongside the other live brokers
A Zerodha master is the most common setup we see, and it does not restrict where the child accounts live. Zerodha to Zerodha needs no translation at all. Zerodha to FYERS translates the symbol and the product type on the way through, so MIS becomes INTRADAY and NSE:RELIANCE becomes NSE:RELIANCE-EQ.
Zerodha as master
Drive children at any live broker
Orders placed in your Zerodha master account replicate into child accounts at Zerodha, Angel One and FYERS, each with its own copy factor, lot size and max-quantity cap.
Zerodha as child
Follow a master at another broker
A Zerodha account can equally be the follower. A master at Angel One or FYERS drives it, with symbol and product-type translation applied automatically on every order.
See the full master and child matrix for every supported combination.
