Broker IPv6 support
Which broker APIs answer on IPv6
SEBI requires broker API access from a static IP you register with your broker. IPv6 addresses cost less than IPv4 ones, so the only question that matters is whether your broker's order endpoint can be reached over IPv6 at all. Here is what a DNS lookup said on 6 August 2026: 9 of 11 can.
How to read this
These are DNS lookups we ran ourselves on the date shown, not statements from the brokers. A broker can add or remove an AAAA record at any time without telling anyone, so re-check before you buy if it has been a while, or ask us and we will look it up with you.
The hostname column is the point. A broker is not IPv6-ready or not: one specific host has to answer, and it is the one your orders are sent to. Streaming and market-data hosts are listed separately where they differ, because those carry no orders, are not IP-restricted, and can leave from a shared address without breaking anything.

One consequence worth spelling out, because it is easy to get wrong: an address bound to IPv6 cannot reach an IPv4-only destination. Brokers also cap how many IPs you may register per app, so holding both families as a safety net is generally not something your broker will let you do. Pick the family your broker’s order host answers on, and pick IPv4 when in doubt.
